Infant Program

Our infant program is designed to serve children 4 weeks to 12 months.
If your looking for a safe, cozy "home away from home" for your infant this is the place! We've created a nurturing, creative space especially for your infant. Your baby will have a special place in our infant area, with a personal crib, age-appropriate toys, books and activities. A low caregiver ratio of 3:1 ensures your child will receive plenty of individualized care.
Your baby changes every day. That's why our infant staff will keep you involved with daily updates on your baby's activities, developmental changes and milestones. Discovery Time staff has received training in the administration of Ages & Stages Questionnaires, a bi-monthly developmental assessment, which is then used to develop activities to meet each child’s current developmental stages. These activities include tummy time, stories, music, fine and gross motor play, as well as plenty of cuddles and fun choices. Caregivers follow each child’s own feeding and sleeping schedules to maintain a home-like environment. Breastfeeding mothers are invited to stop in anytime to feed their child if they wish.
We have a comprehensive communication system to support our partnership with you through daily journal entries as well as feeding and diapering logs. Caregivers are available to discuss your child’s care at any time.
Each infant is supplied with their own personalized crib with mobiles, sheets and blankets (when age appropriate). For your child’s safety, our infant room is equipped with an evacuation crib, a crib with extra large wheels for easy movement over carpets and outdoor surfaces in the case of an emergency.
Our infants are separated from our older children to provide a more quiet environment for them.
Infants enjoy a large variety of activities and fun in our area. Our area includes a variety of books, toys, rattles, bouncy seats, Boppy support pillows, excersaucers and soft crawling mats. All pre-made bottles and babyfoods are stored in the infant room until feeding time. Bottles of formula and breastmilk, as well as jars of baby food are quickly warmed using warm water bottle warmers to a safe, comfortable feeding temperature.
